Hi friend,
Iâve been thinking about you and me lately. Who are you? Who am I? What are we doing here together? What do you want from me?Â
My contemplation has covered where weâve been and where weâre going.Â
Where weâve been
I started hosting virtual women circles at the start of the pandemic. Living in times of confusion, lockdowns, and isolation, the need to gather was palpable and I was inspired to create a virtual healing space for women. We showed up together to meditate and explored what it means to listen to the wisdom of our bodies and speak from our hearts.
I created this Substack publication in tandem to share the tools and resources our fragile world needs. Everything Iâve shared on this platform is knowledge gained through personal experience - tools Iâve used and wisdom Iâve discovered on my self-healing journey. My first post ironically was Writing for Healing. I was writing about healing for healing to inspire healing.Â
I had no idea if these offerings would resonate.Â
But for a lot of you, it did.Â
Who are you?
This community has grown from my immediate circle of family and friends to nearly 6,000 women from all over the world including:
Taiwan, Japan, India, England, Germany, Australia, Canada, Mexico, the United States, and more.Â
Iâve had the honor to know some of you deeply through 1:1 coaching, but most of you I only know from comments, messages, and occasional exchanges. Itâs hard to learn about each other like that.Â
Publishing on the internet can feel like youâre speaking into an abyss, but itâs not. Behind every email address is a soul. I see you out there.Â
While some of you I donât know (yet! - introduce yourself hello@christinatasooji.com), I wrote a list of observations about those of you I do know:
artist, teacher, caretaker, business executive, lawyer, writer, engineer, yoga teacher, tech professional, entrepreneur, filmmaker, grad student, actor, doctor, nurse, mental health specialist, gardener, healer, nature lover, data scientist, feminist, classic liberal, compassionate, creative, intellectual, medicine woman, international, bi-lingual, daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, marriage counselor, peacekeeper, mentor, meditator.
When I first read back the observations I wrote, I noticed I took the easy road. I labeled you as the the things you do in the world. I wrote down what I could see. Â
But when I feel into the essence of our exchanges and connection, I feel your compassionate presence, which is so much more deep and expansive than words can describe.
Youâre funny, passionate, sweet, and inspiringly resilient. The pain of life has cracked your heart wide open and youâre here to spread the love. In general, youâre mostly creatives, healers, intellectuals, and nature lovers who are inordinately humble.
Who am I?
I seek and share womenâs wisdom.Â
My gift is to guide women directly to the heart of their matter and give them the exact tools they need to connect with themselves to move forward. Iâve also been employed as an accountant, film studio executive, event producer, business development manager, marketing strategist, healer, fitness instructor, and yoga teacher.
Iâm a feminist and modern medicine woman.
I live in California and am the offspring of generations of bicultural love stories. My heritage spans the lands and waters of Iran, Mexico, and Europe. My ancestors sing through my bones and beckon me to strum my guitar, beat my drum, and dance around the fire of my heart.Â
I believe my authentic expression is the medicine I have to offer the world.
I believe all womenâs expression is medicine.Â
âKnow thyselfâ is the creed I follow. I seek self-intimacy through my creativity which includes writing this newsletter. Creative practice is divine play and by doing what I loved as a girl - dancing, singing, music-making, praying, and writing poetry - I know myself.
I celebrate the synchrony between my creativity, spirituality, and sensuality. â
The moon is my muse and mother nature is my teacher. Iâm in awe of the grace and wisdom of her cycles. I honor my body by living in alignment with my cycle. â
I hope to inspire women to experience their cyclical rhythms as the magnificent pulse of the universe seeking expression through them.
Of course, Iâm still learning and growing, but Iâm happy to say Iâve healed my body, left toxic relationships, and what felt like a compromising career and created a life that feels wildly aligned with who I really am and the legacy I hope to leave.Â
You can read more about my story here.Â
Where weâre going
Iâve taken some time to reflect on and refine my intention for The Antidote and our womenâs collective.Â
The Antidote is a newsletter and meditation community featuring essential healing methods for the modern woman. Our mission is to inspire women to realize their fullest potential through educational content, guided meditation, and self-reflection tools.
The way I see it, the stressors and distractions of modern life leaves millions of women disconnected, numb, and out-of-touch with their feminine power. The Antidote spreads restorative energy for self-love and spiritual nourishment to help women reconnect with who they are, their body, and the earth.
We celebrate the feminine spirit of creativity, sensuality, intuition, and wisdom. We believe meditation and holistic well-being practices are a foil for personal, professional, and spiritual growth. Because all women should in touch with their innate feminine power and have resources and tools to integrate well-being into their daily lives.
The core values of this community are:
Inclusivity: Weâre in service of our feminine community and value including all people in all places and spaces to tune into themselves and their needs.
Community: This is a space for women supporting women. We are fostering a community and a space for women to take care of themselves and each other.
Wellness: Wellness is multidimensional. Itâs not just the food you eat or your yoga practice... itâs your relationship with yourself and the world around you.
Personal and Spiritual Growth: Personal growth is personal healing and empowerment. Spiritual growth is collective healing and the recognition of the interconnectedness and divine essence in all. The Antidote supports both of these paths.
Connect with our community live, and in person!
Letâs connect in real time! Sign up for our meditation classes and women circles. Itâs a delight to gather with so many women from all over the world. The energy of support is palpable.
**I also have a seed in my heart to create an in-person gathering. Iâm seeing a 2023 womenâs retreat in a warm, beautiful place in the world; a retreat to unplug from the busyness of life and be nourished by nature, yoga, meditation, music, dance, and sisterhood. If youâre interested to know more, please let me know.**
Share The Antidote
Iâve got a lot of juicy meditations, writing, and events coming your way and it would mean so much for you to share this publication with the people in your life. While itâs pretty obvious I write for and about women - anyone can be for and about women! Please share this newsletter with anyone you think would be into it. Thank you.
With so much love,Â
Christina
