What kind of healer are you?
I’ve been thinking about the work of healers.
There are many ways to observe the work of a healer. Some healers work with their hands; they put bodies at ease with their gentle touch; they prepare food with love to warm hearts and nourish bellies.
Some healers work with their minds; they interpret dreams and share visions.
Some healers give hugs, others make medicine.
Some healers are teachers, and there are many teachers on the healer’s journey.
Some healers are artists, they inspire us to wake up to the flurry in our hearts.
Some healers work in hospitals, they stitch bodies and cure disease. Some healers work with the Earth, they grow plants, brew herbal teas, and make tinctures.
A healer who listens to you deeply can make you feel like magic, for she mirrors back to you the eternity of your own soul.
Although the journey is never linear, the path of the healer is always about getting closer to the heart and finding compassion for others.
What kind of healer are you?
Speaking of artists who heal, I was moved by Amanda Gorman’s powerful inaugural poem.
With so much love,
Christina
