How to practice Yoni Mudra
This is Yoni Mudra.
Mudra means “gesture” “seal” or “symbol.”
Mudras are powerful gestures of the hands, body, or face in traditional usage to expand the breath, consciousness, and energy pathways in the body. The many many positive results that can be obtained include lowering blood pressure and boosting vitality to lift us up when we are feeling drained of energy. By directing the breath and awareness, mudras can deliver healing to specific systems of the human body.
I love sharing this practice with women because the truth is, our real feminine power lives “down there” - in our Yoni.
Yoni translates to “gateway to life” in Sanskrit. I prefer to use this word not as a euphemism but because it points to the female body’s physical and divine nature. Within our pelvis lives our temple of transformation, and our yonis are the gateway between our inner creations and outer worlds. Unless we include our reproductive organs in our yoga and meditation practices - in all we create in life - we are missing the magic of knowing and expressing our feminine power, of expressing the radiance that is our true feminine nature.
Yoni mudra awakens feminine strength and power. It's a viscerally healing, meditative gesture that soothes both mental and physical anxiety.
Practicing this brings a clarity of thought. Like a baby in the uterus, meditating with yoni mudra pulls you inward. With no external contact with the world, the mind quiets and receives the required pause needed for a change of perception.
About this practice
Assists: Inner cycles, fluidity, and feminine awakening.
Benefits: This mudra relates to the pelvis, uterus, womb, sexual organs, and the entire female reproductive system, supporting fertility, urinary health and easing menstrual and menopause symptoms.
Yoni mudra produces mental clarity along with connection with your life force energy and inner consciousness. It promotes deep internal relaxation and connection with the earth and feminine energy.
Instructions: Place palms of the hands together with the finger and thumbs pointing up. Interlock the pinky, ring, and middle fingers downward. Bring the thumbs toward the body and join the pads of the index fingers together to form a diamond shape. Rest the hands, thumbs facing upward in front of the pelvis.
Focus: “I open to the divine feminine within me.”
Meditation Practice: Get into a comfortable meditation posture, keeping your spine and head straight. The shoulders should be relaxed and the chest soft to allow the diaphragm and rib cage to move freely as you breath. Smooth and deep breaths further enable the flow of prana or energy.
Close your eyes and lips and focus on your womb space. Allow your energy and attention to flow downwards. Direct breath to the sacrum, lower back, and pelvis. Take a few full deep breaths to release any stagnant energy.
Find yourself outside on a beautiful path in nature. Feel yourself walking slowly and mindfully. The path winds around like a labyrinth. You follow the path from the outside into the center. In the center, you find yourself here as the goddess. See yourself in this divine feminine form. Feel yourself opening to this energy.
With so much love,
Christina

What clients are saying:
“Christina grounded me in a time when my life felt like chaos. With life moving so fast paced, always on a deadline and a hectic schedule, working with Christina allowed me the space to pause and check-in with myself and my body. I didn't realize how much I needed this accountability to tuning into myself—I looked forward to my sessions with Christina every week. I learned so much about myself, my body, and my menstrual cycle—and most importantly, how to listen to my body to live life more authentically.”
