Patience is a virtue.
If you were to receive everything you wanted today, would you be able to handle it?
We want our wants, now. We want our wants, yesterday. Late capitalism fuels this feeling with incessant marketing and creating solutions to problems we don’t have. Social media sparks the sickness of comparison.
Burning the candle till our light is out, monkey-mind, and feeling like we are always behind, are the threads of the cultural fabric we live in.
But what if you are exactly where you need to be?
What if your dreams are well on their way, and the setbacks are gifts to expand your capacity to receive?
Life is a ceremony.
In plant medicine ceremony, we call the experience of purging (quite possibly the most uncomfortable feeling, compulsive vomiting) as “getting well,” not “getting sick.” I’ve noticed that it’s often while I am purging (face sweating, body convulsing, with my head in a bucket) I receive the deepest wisdom teachings. It’s in these moments of struggle I discover healing. Hmm.
Numerous plant ceremonies have revealed the truth that life is a ceremony, the greatest of them all.
Even in challenging moments, we are able to do what we are here to do: learn.
Can you see your roadblocks as teachers?
Can you discover spaciousness by reframing a self-judgement of procrastination to a form of intuition?
Can you experience the winding path to your goals as the medicine you need to achieve them?
Peace is in the eternal now.
To be hopeful is also to be dissatisfied. Hope is the inverse of fear, cut from the same vibration. Wishing things to be different than they are robs us from experiencing peace in the eternal now.
I’m not saying skirt your responsibility and renounce agency in life. I am not suggesting you should not strive for goals and growth. Rather, see the journey as part of the destination. To be on the path is a feat.
We need horizons to guide us. But we also need to be ok with it being a horizon and allow our arrival to happen in divine timing.
If you haven’t arrived at your horizon, what more is there to learn on the path? What wisdom can be gleaned?
Just because something hasn’t happened doesn’t mean it isn’t going to happen.
I’ve always known I want to be a mother but it wasn’t until I became acutely aware of the soul of my future child and their love I long to receive in said ceremonies that I began to make changes in my life to prepare for their arrival.
They say that no one ever feels completely ready to have a child, but I feel I am. It takes two to tango. Making a child requires both partners readiness. My husband and I disagree on this timeline. It’s created a lot of stress and tension in our relationship. It’s generated a lot of difficult conversations and regrettable exchanges.
But when I get quiet and listen inside, I feel a tempering of my fear of not having a child and a wise woman within saying, let it be. You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.
Perhaps navigating this conflict is the very initiation my husband and I need to become the parents we are meant to be.
I’m holding the horizon of motherhood, while anchoring in my meditation practices to be here now. While it’s my hearts prayer to become a mother, I recognize that all future is an illusion. Just as all past is a dream. The only reality I have access to is the present.
Be grateful for the journey just as much as you look forward to the destination.
With so much love,
Christina

What clients are saying:
“During my 6 months with Christina, I increased my income by 45%, formed an LLC, moved into a new, spacious apartment, came to peace with a personal health issue, found a new sense of style and confidence, and met a man I really enjoy being around after almost 4 years of shallow off and on dating. Most significantly for me, I became more adept at conflict, decision making, and practicing emotional containment and expression.”
